Tomorrow will see voters lining up for their democracy sausages across polling booths in South Australia and in the Federal electorate of Batman in Melbourne.

Batman is a progressive seat and ALP Candidate, Ms Ged Kearney, has been up against persistent efforts from activists and Greens supporters alike as the Greens candidate, Ms Alex Bhathal, put critical social issues, such as refugee rights and the Adani mine at the centre of debate.

The betting odds according to the TAB (on Friday afternoon) currently see the seat being won by the Greens, with $1.45 against Labor’s $2.65.

In contrast, the election for Premier in South Australia sees Labor with a slight lead, as betting odds give the incumbent Premier Jay Weatherill a lead of $1.70 over the Liberals $2.10. However, Wednesday night’s Sky News/Advertiser People’s Forum saw SA Best leader, Nick Xenophon, come out as victor over Mr Weatherill and Liberal candidate Steven Marshall, with 30 per cent of attendees voting in Mr Xenophon’s favour.
