Less than 2 years since the 2016 federal election, this week’s announcement by Senator Brian Burston that he had resigned from Pauline Hanon’s One Nation represents yet another change to the makeup of the cross bench of the Senate.
Out of the 11 cross bench Senators (excluding the Greens) elected in July 2016, only five remain in the Senate and one of those is no longer a member of the party he was in when elected.
